Background: Chelsie grew up having an interest in natural medicine for people and pets. She knew she would like a career in healing, but didn’t want to become a doctor or veterinarian. After high school, Chelsie decided to pursue a career where she could work with animals and obtained her BS in Animal Science from Washington State University. While the degree taught her about physiology, nutrition and behavior, none of the jobs promoted by WSU interested her. It was at this point that Chelsie decided to continue her education and pursue massage therapy for people and animals.
Chelsie graduated from the Bryman School in Arizona with a 4.0 in massage therapy. After finishing, she moved back to Washington to become certified by the Northwest School of Animal Massage. In November of 2007, Chelsie began her own practice and worked at a chiropractic clinic.
What Sets Chelsie Apart: Chelsie was born legally blind and began learning Braille in kindergarten. Consequently, she has been developing her sense of touch for most of her life. This skill translates to her massage technique being gentle, specific and effective. Clients have continually commented that Chelsie finds knots that no other therapist has found. When she finds a knot, Chelsie can feel how deep the muscle will allow her to go, so she doesn’t cause discomfort during the session or the day after.
Chelsie loves helping clients work toward their individual health goals. Whether someone wants to relax or recover from an injury, Chelsie will talk with her client before every session and follow up afterward, to best tailor treatment.
